Tabata Tuesday and Travel Talk
It's Tuesday, right? Let's get caught up, shall we? So, in the last two weeks, I've traveled to Utah for Blend, had multiple work meetings, kids are now out of school, traveled to Birmingham and now I'm working my tail off on a couple of projects along with getting Tony ready for more conventions. Woohoo summer break...definitely read sarcasm here.

Life is moving too fast! The kids are gone for 3 weeks to visit their grandparents and cousins. They have been gone for 5 days and I already miss them like crazy! I love the age they are right now. They are our little buddies! Oh well, they are having a great time so that's all that's important right now. It is their summer break, so I'm glad they are enjoying some good vacation time.

So, we started our trip with me discovering I have an alter ego for conventions...

Seriously, how do you type my name right directly underneath the wrong one? I kind of like it...I may just start going by Saizena. ;)

Let's talk about traveling and healthy living. Something I don't talk about much here and I don't know why is workouts. This past weekend got me to thinking about quick workouts. Tony and I had every intention to run at the hotel this past weekend. We brought our running clothes, peaked into the gym, had a plan and then...exhaustion hit with the late nights, early mornings and time change. So, with that plan out the door and my need to move before having to sit so much in a convention hall, I came up with a quick tabata workout to get me going. Tabata is incredible for getting your heart rate going and I love that I can do this with no equipment, well, other than my phone. I have an app on my phone that has a circuit timer. So, I just plug in my 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off for 8 rounds then I'm good to go! 30 minutes, in my hotel room and I was done with a full body workout!

Traveling Tabata Workout!

5 minute warm up of alternating standing knee lifts and arm circles

2 rounds with 1 minute rest in between
Alternating Front Lunge
Deep Squats
Dips
Pushups
Alternating Rear Lunges
Deep Squats
Dips
Pushups

1 Round
Full Sit Ups (chest to knees)

Stretch! Seriously, this felt so good and I felt so ready for my day...of sitting.

Now, traveling fuel. Yeah, this could be a post all on it's own, but I figured I would share some highlights of my favorites this past weekend.

Apples!

I will NEVER get tired of apples. Crisp, sweet, refreshing...yeah, they are my favorite travel snack!

No lie, our best find for breakfast for this weekend was the Starbucks inside of the Target which was about 2 miles from our hotel. We were on a hunt for COFFEE and fuel. Jackpot!

I had a packet of vanilla Plant Fusion from Blend (this is one of my favorites) so it gave me the perfect bowl of oatmeal that I needed to fuel me for the start of my day! The protein powder and oatmeal combination makes everything creamy and delicious. It's like an oatmeal pudding! Yum!

Finding a Jason's Deli was also another jackpot find! Give me all the salad and a few eggs for protein...I'm good to go!

Also, I found these little babies on clearance at Target...um, they are like crack! I'm not really a super sweets eater or a chip person, but these mildly sweet treats totally hit the spot!

I normally travel really well for conventions when it comes to food. This trip was a little off for me when it came to packing fuel. I think I was just not ready to travel again, so my brain wasn't really functioning for it. I will be ready for the next one though. Tony and I are already planning things out. It is NEVER a good idea for me not to travel with good fuel. I have to eat all the time and I need it to be something that will make me feel energized.

Traveling fuel and workouts...do you plan for them or do you just go with the flow? Do you have a favorite quick workout? Please share!!! Do you have a go to travel food plan? Please share that too!!!

Presents On My Doorstep!
Wow, talk about a disappearing act. I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I last posted here. An incredible amount of things have happened! Since I don't want this post to be a novel, I'm going to start with what what makes this Monday so Marvelous...

MiMM MIMM #51 with Lots of Fun Highlights From The Weekend!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know we were at a convention this weekend in Alabama promoting Tony's illustration work. It was a crazy weekend with early mornings for the convention and late nights having the most incredible meals (one of which was the best meal of my life so far) and hanging out with amazing friends. The worst part was having to drive back home at 6pm because I had to work at 6am this morning. Oh well, I can't complain about working since I love training people. Now, for the marvelous part...when I got home at 9:45pm last night, there was a package at my door step!

Yep, the Jawbone UP that I won on the beautiful Katie's blog! I can't wait to start using this little device! There will definitely be a review coming soon!

I also owe you guys some words on Blend. I will definitely get to that soon. The event was beyond amazing! I don't want to give it less than it deserves, so I will get to writing that post soon!

I hope you all have an amazing day off of work. I will be working today, but first I'm heading out for a run to enjoy a little fresh air and movement! Have a great one!

Blends!
I’m attending Blend Retreat 2013.

This week, I'm seriously excited about Monday rearing it's head. This week...I'm going to Blend Retreat! So, yeah...you could say I'm feeling pretty darn Marlevous In My Monday!

I'm excited for this trip to Blend for a couple of reasons. One, because I get to see some amazing friends and meet some new ones. Two, because I have the honor of representing Bob's Red Mill at the event! You all know how much I love Bob's Products, so having the opportunity to share them with others, well, I'm beyond excited about that!

I have to say, I've been asked a lot about why I blog. Hands down, the friendships I've made blogging have been life changing for me. There are some of the most incredible people out there that I would have never met if I had not started blogging. I am thankful for them everyday. I look forward to reading about these people's lives and sharing experiences with them every day (even if some are only virtually)! You share the good, the bad, the joy, the heartache, the hard work, the pay off...I owe my blends a huge thank you for always being there for me! I look forward to the day I can meet all of you!

So, yeah...I'm feeling especially marvelous this Monday! I hope you all have an incredible week!

Have you met any blends face to face? Have people ever questioned why you blog?

Inspiration Versus Motivation...
I share my thoughts on this subject over on Heather's site at Where's The Beach. She was so kind to invite me to do a guest post while she is in California enjoying some girl time! I feel honored to get the opportunity to share with her readers.

We could all use a little inspiration and motivation to get us going...

Happy Hump Day!
