Boys and Parties!
It's Monday...

Another weekend has gone by that I wish would not have ended. I'm sure I'm not the only one. We have our boys back (plus one!)!!! Yay! My nephew came back with us to spend the week with us now. We will be living with the 3 Stooges for the next week. I would like to get outside some with them, but it will have to either be early or much later in the evening. Otherwise, yes, we will melt...

My weekend started on Friday with meeting up with Tony's siblings and their spouses to see Seinfeld in Nashville, TN. That was such a great time! We enjoyed a great dinner with an old friend (he's not old, we've all been friends for a long time...just to clarify) and an evening of incredible entertainment with just the adults. This was my second time seeing Seinfeld live and he definitely does not disappoint. I did like the 1st show I saw years ago better than this one, but still a great show.

Saturday led to a day of mischief! We were planning a surprise party for my sister-in-law. I was responsible for getting her out of the house until 6pm. Luckily we had to go an hour out of town for some errands, so staying away wasn't that hard. I had to be subtle and get her to change plans a little because our errands were running a little long and we needed to get back. We made it back on time and she had no idea!

Oh, I was also responsible or the cake...

The cake took some work, but I had so much fun putting it together! I made a pina colada cake with pineapple flowers for the garnish.

I LOVED making these flowers! They were delicious and so pretty on the cake. This particular cake was my tester. I did double this and it turned out perfectly for the party. When I can get all my notes together, I will type up the recipe. It's involved, but not difficult at all.

Anyway, the party was perfect with old friends and newer friends. It was so nice seeing my sister-in-law so excited to see people get together just for her! Sadly, the weekend is now over, but I have high hopes for a great week!

For now, I'm off to train a client and then I have a few men, plus an extra one to do some fun stuff with! I hope everyone has a great week!

Have you ever thrown a surprise party or had one thrown for you?

That cake looks amazing. And those flowers? Really? You are so impressive. Glad you cleared up that "old friend" comment. You might have upset someone. Ha. Can't handle the pressure of throwing a surprise party. Oops. Too bad for the people around me who deserve one. Hugs!

Aww, yay! Sounds like so much fun! I love surprises! I would love to have a surprise party one day...or be in charge of putting one together! I love seeing the look on a loved-ones face when you do something to make their day!

That cake is beyond fabulous! Pineapple flowers? Who woulda thought?

And I know what you mean about this crazy heat! I thought I'd get up early on Sunday for a run, but at 6am it was already like 90 degrees! Ugh!

Those pineapple flowers are so pretty! What an awesome cake :)

I've been to lots of surprise parties but never had one myself. I'm not very good with surprises because I somehow always know exactly what/when it is, haha.

A friend threw me a surprise birthday party in 8th grade. I remember seeing people peek through the curtains on my way to the house and pretending to be surprised! :)
