HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all of you! I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2011!

We are heading out the door for a New Year's Lucky Food Pot Luck at a friends house.

I just pulled a pan of Gluten Free Gooey Bars out of the oven...

I will let you know how this turns out!

While these have nothing to do with luck, they have everything to do with making you happy and that is the theme of my year! Have a great day!

I don't have any lucky foods, but that sounds like a great idea!

And, um, yes please I'll take some gooey bars! They look fab. Looks like a great thing to bring to a party.

My mom used to make corned beef and sauerkraut every NY Day, but now that I have a family of my own we're pretty laid back. Tonight was actually fend for yourself night! :)

Happy New Year! I don't normally do all the lucky food traditions, but today I am in order to use my new crockpot ;-) Can't wait to hear about those gooey bars!

No traditional meals for me... just snacking all day. :)

Ooey gooey butter cake! I've heard that's a big thing in St. Louis. Yet none of my friends there have talked about it. Weird.

My family has a tradition of having round fruits for the New Years and also noodle for long life.

Having 13 different kinds of round fruits during New Year’s Eve is said to bring good luck and prosperity to the family for the coming year.

Why 13 round fruits, you ask? 13 is a lucky number to the Chinese, and the fruits’ round shape resembles coins. They say it means wealth, abundance and prosperity.

Gooey Bars!! Are these like Paula Dean's Ooey Gooey Butter Cake Bars? If so, YUM!!! I hope you post the recipe if they turned out! They sound Divine!!
