Antiquing
There is really only one word to describe how I feel today...exhausted.

Tony went to a friends wedding reception last night and got home late. Long story short, they have been together forever and finally made it legal at the courthouse and threw a big reception at their place. It was a school night and one of us needed to be at the party. That one person was the illustrator. Well, I can't sleep when I know he is out where adult beverages will be consumed and then driving home. Luckily, our friend went with him and he drove my man home. However, it was really late when they got back...so, I am freakin' tired.

I got out of bed late due to the 4 hours of sleep and did some cardio and some light muscle toning. I had no energy for heavy duty anything and I didn't want to hurt myself, so I kept is simple and fun. I need the workout on the days when I know I won't have any energy because it gives me a boost to get through the day. Well, now I am ready to sit on my butt on the couch and be a vegetable. Yes, that is the plan very soon.

Yesterday was kind of interesting at the antique place. Yes, we go antiquing. We don't typically buy things, well, I keep the illustrator from buying any more desks or chairs. I swear there has to be a group for people that collect 50s and 60s desks and chairs. It is that specific. Anyway, I found so many dishes that I wanted to buy, but we weren't there for us, we were there for a gift. We shop there a lot for gifts. We like gifts that mean something.

Warning...iPhone pictures...

I LOVE milk glass. I am pretty sure I get that from my grandmother. She is a dish hoarder. I am fighting the urge, but these glasses really wanted to go home with me!

I thought it was funny that this was labeled as a pot for a plant. Hello, there are chopstick holes in it. I love it when people label things and they have no idea what it is.

We are coffee drinkers and these are just too cute. I can hear the Sanka commercial right now in my head. These would go perfectly with our collection of vintage coffee ads that still need to go up somewhere.

Speaking of my grandmother and random things at the antique store...I totally know she would love this beauty! Um, let's just say that everything there is not antique. People, this had crystals and feathers hanging off of it.  NICE! This looks like Christmas at The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. Love that movie and love Dolly Parton!

So, tonight was an easy dinner night. I would apologize for the omelet, but this open face masterpiece is worth mentioning. I made it crispy by heating the pan with a little coconut oil and then pouring the egg substitute in the pan. Then I covered the pan...that is the key. It puffs up! Then flip it and cover it again.

Then I sauteed a little peppers, onions and mung bean sprouts in a little more coconut oil. Poured it all on top of my puffed up eggs.

It wasn't perfect until I drowned it in hot sauce. Perfect lazy dinner. The crazy thing about this meal...I think there was close to 20 grams for protein in this thing. Now, I need some carbs! I am off to get my oatmeal treat for the night.

Do you workout when you are tired even if you know it is not going to be an all out workout or do you put it off for another day?

Have a great weekend!

Oh and I am working on things with that peanut flour. I love it!

I'm exhausted too. This week WORE me out. I'm the same way when Andrew's out. I get in bed and try to sleep, but can't. Hope you're able to catch up on sleep tonight!! :)

I only worked out twice this week... it was a crazy busy week and I came home exhausted every single day. I don't force a workout b/c I know my body needs rest more than it needs activity at that point since I've been so active running around at school all day. But before the baby, I did force myself to workout even when I was tired and usually it helped me feel better. But not every time! ;) Sometimes it's nice to just kick back and take a day off!! :)

Enjoy your evening, Sarena!! :) I'm going to attempt your GF monkey bread sometime this weekend!! I'll let you know!! :)

ech -- I hate that "I only slept half the amount I should have" feeling. I hope you are able to rest up tonight.
Antiquing yesterday looks like it was fun! I lovee that bowl. So pretty! I love antique-y type bottles and dishware. And I also get a laugh out of mislabeling. I see it lots with horse tack!
And now - it's the weekend! Have a good one :)

Hey lady! Sorry about the exhausting night/day. Your omelet looks so good. I love them.

I used to workout through anything, but I'm becoming much more aware of my limits and tend to take a rest day if I'm really exhausted. There are some days when I'll get the workout in anyhow because you're right - it does tend to give me some more energy for the day.

When I am tired, I normally take the day off. If I know I cannot push myself hard, then I rather rest, and work hard the next day.

    Have a great weekend!!

omg as a kid my parents are HUGE antique buffs. As in, they have flown to europe to look at antique furntiure. I grew up in antique shops and at various antique conventions, i mean my parents are SERIOUS collectors. Milk glass..i can hear my mother now, "Don't TOUCH!" lol as she would cart us off everywhere and anywhere in search of 'tiques!

I've never been antiquing, but I go vintage clothes shopping so it's kind of weird that I don't do the same thing for my household items. I'm going to start! Thanks!

I worry when Jason goes out too.

It depends on how tired I am in regards to whether or not I make myself work out. It also depends on if I'm training for something. Generally, if I'm not training, I'll put the workout off, but if I am, I'll do it.

Hey sweetie - sorry you're so worn out. I try to listen to my body and determine if it's just dragging a bit and the workout will give me some energy or if it's just not worth it and resting is more important. Sometimes a workout is good for giving us some needed energy, but then there are times when the body is just totally worn out and needs the break.

I love love love going to antique stores! Hope you find some time for yourself and some rest this weekend.

I love the "plant holder!" John is going skydiving on Sunday and I'm already a wreck. He goes every year on his birthday and last year he didn't call me until HOURS after he was done. Needless to say, I was practically having a heart attack by the time he let me know he was safe and sound!

I just found your blog today - very glad I did! :) I also stumbled upon your old recommendation for The Vegan Scoop, which I had never heard about before. The book will definitely be on my Christmas wish list this year. ;)

It was funny to see your comment about the "plant holder". There is a pottery/art shop near my house, and they had very similar bowls on the display window some time ago. I instantly thought they were noodle bowls with chopstick holes, but it turned out the artist had actually meant them to be "plant holders" instead: the holes were used to tie a string on the holder and then hang it on the wall! The one you saw is probably a noodle bowl, as you say - but apparently some artists think like the shopkeeper, or the other way around. ;)

Oooh my omelets are always flat- it had never occurred to me to cover them!
I hate hate hate worrying about people getting safe rides home. I drink very rarely for that very reason.
