Feel Good Food
Today was a "get up and get your butt moving" kinda day for me!  The air conditioner is still broken upstairs, so my usual private work out time has been seriously interrupted...for the past month!  I have a ton of FitTv workouts on the DVR downstairs that I rotate between.  I love having this because I have a great rotation I can go between depending on how I feel that day.  The funny thing is that I normaly pick my workout in my head the night before.  I love kick boxing and interval training.  Those are the perfect mix of cardio and muscle toning for me.  Lately, I have been working out to my computer.  I found some workouts on exercise TV that I have been trying out.  The sad thing is that it is hit or miss for me since I am working out with trainers I don't know about.  Today was great though.  I did 3 different interval workouts that totally kicked my booty!  I loved it!

We partied a little harder this past weekend, so we have been on recovery mode with food.  I have kept it simple and clean while making sure to get some great nutrients in the combinations.
This morning was chai infused oatmeal loaded with Omega 3's.  Jessica at healthyexposures makes her oats with coffee, so I thought I would give my oats a little infusion.  I bought some chai tea that I was not too thrilled with drinking, so I thought I would give it a try since it would not be the star of the show...it would just add a little something something to the mix.  It did exactly that.  The chai is not overwhelming and you get all the spicy flavors throughout the oats.  The mix was oats, chai tea, flax meal, cinnamon, Tempt hemp milk and a little brown sugar on top.  I loved this mix!  Great way to start off the day after my kickin' workout!
Lunch was so refreshing and a perfect mix of vegetables, proteins and carbs!  I love quinoa on my salads.  (Heck, let's be honest...I just love quinoa) I am not a dressing person, but I love mustard on my salads.  This mix was romaine lettuce, a juicy tomato, quinoa, spicy brown mustard and a one of my high protein gluten free rolls!  I just feel so good after eating this!  I love how good food makes you feel.  Can you tell a difference when you eat fresh food that is good for you or does food not affect you?  Do you have a food that you have to eat to cleanse your palette when you have eaten something heavy?  I always need an apple after a heavy meal.  I think apples are so refreshing!

Now...what to make for dinner???

The Chai oats sound amazing!! I've got some really good coconut chai tea that I must try this with :)
And I agree - I loveee fresh meals, and fresh flavors!! I don't know how I used to love spicy, spicy meals - now I'm all about the italian, mediterranean vibe. Basil, tomatoes, garlic, etc. Even if I eat something healthy that has a lot of heat factor, I feel so...full? Maybe? Yet wanting more, to cool my mouth down! haha. Maybe I'm weird, though... :\

I don't need any food to cleanse my palate, but I need a hot, sweetened drink after dinner before dessert. Coffee, tea, teeccino--it doesn't matter which but something

I find that after eating heavy or a lot for a day or so I always crave fresh fruits and veges. I definitely always feel better when I eat healthy but on the weekends I usually splurge a bit!

I am just getting into quinoa but love the chai infused oatmeal. We do a lot of different oatmeal in out house but never done coffee or chai.
